St. Patrick’s Day has arrived, and whether you’re Irish by blood or just for the day, it’s a great time to celebrate! From festive gatherings to live music and delicious eats, there’s plenty happening around Rutherford County this week.

In this issue, we’re welcoming Spring with the best local events, helpful community resources, a standout local business, and a must-read article. So grab your green, enjoy the fun, and may the luck of the Irish be with you!

Monday [3/17]: Grab some Green Beer, Guinness Stew and Irish Potatoes and celebrate St. Patrick’s day with a special Karaoke Bash at Main Street Market starting at 7PM in Rutherfordton.

Tuesday [3/18]: Get a head-start on Easter décor with an interchangeable truck sign during Paint Night at The Twisted Pear Taproom & Coffee House from 6PM to 8PM in Forest City.

Wednesday [3/19]: Bring your mat and join Mountains Branch Library for gentle yoga at 1:30PM in Lake Lure.

Thursday [3/20]: (Hello Spring!) Young Chefs (7+) can learn how to make vegetarian Bolognese sauce with pasta at this month’s cooking class at the County Library from 5PM to 6PM in Spindale.

Friday [3/21]: Catch Blues Underground live at Barley’s Taproom & Pizzeria in Spindale at 6:30PM.

Saturday [3/22]: Join Night Owl Iron Works at Cherry Mountain Farm to Forge Your Own Horseshoe Knife from 1PM to 4PM in Rutherfordton. Then be sure to head to Scoop in Forest City for ice-cream season opening day starting at 12PM!

Sunday [3/23]: Grab some great food and join Flyboy Pizza for Music Bingo in Rutherfordton from 4PM to 6PM.

Join Ruff’ton Roots in the local community garden to learn valuable gardening skills and make new friends while growing food for the community.

Join the annual Spring Litter Sweep hosted by Keep Rutherford County Beautiful taking place between April 7th through 30th. Register to help clean up Rutherford County, sponsor a roadway cleanup, or grab a Scavenger Hunt for children under 12.

Rutherford County High School Graduates pursuing “green” or eco-oriented undergraduate degrees can apply for the 2025 Green Scholarship. Hurry and apply before the March 31 deadline!
